My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a short getaway in Kuala Lumpur at around the end of January. For this trip, I wanted to explore a different city in Asia that I haven’t been to before.<\/p>\n

We arrived around night time in Malaysia. The hotel where we stayed at was located at Bukit Bintang. Bukit Bintang is well known for being the entertainment and shopping district in Kuala Lumpur. I loved how it was very close to the train station and shopping malls.<\/p>\n

Luckily, my friend’s cousin took us to Village park restaurant, located at Damansara Utama. They are\u00a0well known for their Nasi Lemak (rice cooked in coconut milk) with Ayam Goreng\u00a0( fried chicken). Their milk tea was my fave. I also got to try steamed and toasted bread with Kaya (coconut spread) which I wasn’t able to take a photo of. They were both tasty, but I preferred the steamed bread better.<\/p>\n

For our next food trip, we were driven to KTZ-SS2. It reminded me of\u00a0Divisoria in the Philippines. There were a lot of shops selling cheaper items, many levels,\u00a0and blocks of restaurants close to each other. We went to Chan Meng Kee restaurant. I got to try their Wantan Mee ( hokkien noodles) topped with char siew (barbecued pork) and roasted crispy pork (siew\u00a0yuk). I loved the texture of the noodles and the sweetness of the barbecue pork. It was also served with wantan soup, which paired really well with it.<\/p>\n

The last course of our food trip was this mango dessert which was served with shaved ice, cut-up fresh mangoes and sago (tapioca pearls). It was great value for the portion size. There were so many dessert houses and restaurants around the area which I also hope to try when I come back.<\/p>\n

We were then driven to the national palace of Malaysia, Istana Negara. It is Yang-di Pertuan Agong’s (Malaysian king) home. The building is of Islamic architecture.<\/p>\n

The way the building was situated is similar to Sacre-Coeur basilica in Paris<\/p><\/div>\n

The golden gates reminded me of Buckingham Palace<\/p><\/div>\n

We then caught a train to Prince Sultan Abdul building.<\/p>\n

The infrastructure is so beautiful<\/p><\/div>\n

The park across Prince Sultan building is Merdeka Square. It used to be a cricket ground. I noticed there were more people walking towards there so we crossed the road to see a full view of the Prince Sultan\u00a0building.<\/p>\n

I love how you can also see the KL tower in one frame<\/p><\/div>\n

We also found a beautiful fountain\u00a0there. It reminded me of the fountain\u00a0at Trafalgar Square, London. Unfortunately,\u00a0I didn’t have a coin to toss to make a wish, but it was a beautiful sight to the infrastructures around the city.<\/p>\n

The last stop of our day was seeing the Petronas Twin Towers. There’s a mall at the bottom of the towers. Petronas Towers was so beautiful in person. We were hoping to see it during the night time but it was pouring rain by the time we got to our hotel.<\/p>\n
